Learn more about the thermoset composites Atlas Fibre has in-stock including a variety of phenolics, glass epoxies, and other advanced plastics.
Atlas Fibre offers a comprehensive selection of thermoset composite materials in a variety of shapes and forms, ready to meet the demands of your application. Whether you’re sourcing raw materials or ready-to-machine blanks, we’ll help you select the format that best aligns with your project requirements.
Our thermoset composite sheets are manufactured by pressing and curing resin-impregnated materials into flat sheets, which are then cut and fabricated to size. Sheet thickness is determined by the number of plies in the layup and can range from as thin as 0.005 inches to over 8 inches. While three standard sizes are typically available, we can produce oversized sheets upon request and also offer precision cutting to meet your specifications. In addition to thermosets, we stock select thermoplastic sheets to support a broader range of applications.
We supply both sheet rods—cut from laminated sheets—and rolled or molded rods, manufactured by winding prepreg materials. Our team will help identify the right rod type for your performance requirements and budget, whether you need materials with high dielectric strength, thermal insulation, or mechanical durability. Standard and custom rod lengths are available, including rods up to 120 inches long. We also offer cut-to-length services for added convenience.
Our composite tubes are produced using either filament winding or convolute winding, depending on the desired diameter, wall thickness, and performance characteristics. Filament-wound tubes are ideal for narrow-diameter, high-strength applications, while convolute-wound tubes are available in larger sizes. Common tube materials include paper phenolic and canvas phenolic, though custom formulations are available on request.
Save valuable machine time with our ready-to-use precision blanks. These pre-milled and ground blanks are available in round, square, and rectangular formats and arrive machine-ready, eliminating the need for preliminary prep. Switching from metal to thermoset blanks offers added benefits, including reduced weight, corrosion resistance, and lower total cost of ownership.
Whether you prefer to machine in-house or need a turnkey solution, Atlas Fibre has you covered. With more than 25 CNC milling and lathe machines in operation, as well as capabilities for Swiss turning and routing, we can fabricate high-precision parts from all major thermoset composites and most thermoplastics. Our in-house team ensures quality at every stage—from material selection to final machining.
