C / CE - Canvas Phenolic

C: MIL-I-24768/16 Type FBM CE: MIL-I-24768/14 Type FBG DETAIL: Brown with a visible square-weave pattern, canvas phenolic is a type of composite material made by impregnating layers of cotton canvas with phenolic resin. Canvas phenolic is used routinely for structural applications and simple machined parts. FLAMMABILITY RATING: 94HB

L / LE - Linen Phenolic

L: MIL-I-24768/15 Type FBI LE: MIL-I-24768/13 Type FBE DETAILS:  Brown with a visible circle-weave pattern, linen phenolic is a type of composite material made by impregnating layers of linen fabric with phenolic resin. Linen Phenolic is often used for intricate parts including threaded screws and bushings.  FLAMMABILITY RATING: 94HB

XX - Paper Phenolic

MIL-I-24768/11 Type PBG DETAIL: The XX Grade is Brown with a smooth, fine surface, paper phenolic is a type of composite material made by impregnating layers of paper with phenolic resin. XX Paper Phenolic has good mechanical strength and electrical insulating properties and is used for switch plates, washers, and other electrical components.  FLAMMABILITY RATING: 94HB

XXX - Paper Phenolic

MIL-I-24768/10 Type PBE DETAIL: Red/brown in color with no pattern, XX Grade paper phenolic is a type of composite material made by impregnating layers of paper with phenolic resin. XXX Paper Phenolic is electrical grade and used for projects requiring electrical insulation and structural support.  FLAMMABILITY RATING: 94HB

GPO-3 Glass Polyester

MIL-I-24768/6 DETAIL: Red in color with randomly oriented visible fiberglass strands, glass polyester is a type of composite material made by impregnating layers of glass fiber with polyester resin. GPO-3 has high mechanical strength and is used for switchgears and related applications demanding high levels of electrical insulation. FLAMMABILITY RATING: 94V-0

MIL-I-24768/1 Type GME DETAIL: Light to dark brown in color with a visible line pattern, glass melamine is a composite material where layers of glass fiber are impregnated with melamine resin. Glass Melamine (G9) is used as mechanical support in electrical switchgears, and slot wedges.  FLAMMABILITY RATING: 94V-0

G10 / FR4 Glass Epoxy

G-10: MIL-I-24768/2 Type GEE FR4: MIL-I-24768/27 Type GEE-F DETAIL: Light to medium green in appearance with a semi-visible line pattern, G10 Glass Epoxy is a type of composite made by impregnating layers of glass fiber with epoxy resin. G10/FR4 is  used for insulators in electronics and structural components in mechanical applications. G-10 FLAMMABILITY RATING: 94HB FR4 FLAMMABILITY RATING: 94V-0

G11 / FR5 Glass Epoxy

MIL-I-24768/3 Type GEB DETAIL: Tan/yellow in appearance with a visible texture pattern, G11 Glass Epoxy and FR5 Glass Epoxy (the fire-resistant class of G11) is a type of composite material made by impregnating layers of glass fiber with epoxy resin.  G11 is similar to G10 but with a higher temperature range. This composite is often used in switchgear insulation and circuit breaker components.  FLAMMABILITY RATING: 94HB

MIL-I-24768/17 Type GSG DETAIL: White in color with a visible weave pattern, glass silicone is a type of composite material made by impregnating layers of glass fiber with silicone resin. G7 is used in high frequency telecom equipment, transformers, and applications with extreme temperature requirements. FLAMMABILITY RATING: 94V-0
